Ingredients
  

  • Noodles
  • 8 oz lo mein noodles or spaghetti
  • Vegetables
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1 medium carrot julienned
  • ½ bell pepper thinly sliced
  • 3 green onions sliced
  • Sauce
  • ¼ cup soy sauce low-sodium recommended
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ¼ cup water or chicken broth
  • Optional Protein
  • 1 cup cooked chicken shrimp, beef, or tofu
  • For Cooking
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp fresh grated ginger optional

Method
 

  1. Cook the noodles
  2. Boil noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  3. Mix the sauce
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, sesame oil, and water.
  5. Cook the protein (optional)
  6. Heat oil in a large wok or skillet. Cook protein until fully done. Remove and set aside.
  7. Sauté vegetables
  8. In the same pan, add garlic and ginger. Cook for 30 seconds. Add vegetables and stir-fry until crisp-tender.
  9. Combine
  10. Add noodles, protein, and sauce to the pan. Toss over high heat until well coated and heated through.
  11. Serve
  12. Garnish with green onions and serve immediately.
